Faculty of Law

The Offices of the Human Rights Legal Clinic are situated on the third floor of the Law Faculty of the La Sagesse University, next to the IT Department.

 

 
  • Mrs. Reina Sfeir, Director of the Human Rights Legal Clinic

Reina is a strong project manager and communicator with advanced law degrees. She managed legal programs in Lebanon and the MENA region as well as Italy and the Netherlands with the aim of promoting international law, judicial cooperation and human rights. These programs benefited politicians, judges, lawyers, representatives of international and national organisations, students, refugees and victims of terrorist attacks.

She is currently the Director of the Human Rights Legal Clinic at ULS and the director of the Office of International Relations.

In 2011, she joined the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) as a Liaison Officer for the Victims’ Participation Unit and from 2016 to 2020, as STL Outreach officer.

Reina also participated in several investigative missions to assess human rights violations and produced reports on several crucial topics –war crimes against Lebanese children during the Israeli war in 2006, human rights abuses against Syrians in Lebanon, human rights violations in Beirut after the 4 August blast, among others.

Prior to the STL, Reina worked with American Bar Association – Rule of Law Initiative where she developed and managed a Human Rights Legal Clinic in Beirut and a Legal Aid Center in the North of Lebanon.

Reina holds a Master’s in Public law, a MSc in International Criminal Justice and a Diploma in Human Rights.
