On the 17th and 26th of July 2023, the medical imaging department at the Faculty of Public Health – ULS, in collaboration with the Lebanese Atomic Energy Commission (LAEC) organized the defense of projects for the first class of students enrolled in the Post Graduate Continuing Education Program in Radiation Protection.

Advanced radiation protection and quality control research projects were presented in front of experts from both institutions.

All the projects, presented by professionals working in different renowned hospitals, aim to reduce unnecessary radiation exposure with a goal to minimize the harmful effects of ionizing radiation in different Lebanese hospitals. Ionizing radiation has become an inescapable tool used for the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of medical conditions. A thorough understanding of radiation exposure risks and dose reduction techniques became of utmost importance at a national and international level.
