Tourisme et de Gestion Hôtelière avec la certification académique de l' Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne
In September 2022, Université la Sagesse Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management welcomed a new batch of future hoteliers during their Orientation Day.
Students were greeted in the lobby with a welcome drink, and then an opening speech from the Acting Dean, Dr. Marlene Ishac. She gave a general overview of the wide variety of careers available to hospitality graduates including hotels, restaurants, catering companies, cruises, airlines, casinos, and tour operators, to name a few. In addition, Dr. Ishac explained the link between the SFTHM and Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne and elaborated on the benefits of the mutually beneficial relationship which include certification and audits, maintaining high standards, and a dual signature on the Bachelor of Science degree.
The second and third year SFTHM students conducted presentations on their internships. They explained the importance of the internship program and gave the attendees a glimpse of what to expect when they start working in the field, both domestically and internationally.
Then the newcomers were treated to a live kitchen production session with Chef Bechara Chmouny, who demonstrated the fundamentals in cooking techniques and kitchen operations. After, there was a service session with Mr. Sassine Bitar, who reviewed the basics of F&B / restaurant operations and the importance of the dress code and grooming.
There were a variety of other presentations and activities involving academic affairs and registration.
Upon completion, students were eager to begin their journey at the SFTHM and start their training and classes with great enthusiasm.
