Vision

The Faculty of Law aspires to become an international center of academic excellence and legal research, making a positive impact on the development of law at both national and international levels. It aims to educate generations of legal professionals with a deep understanding of the law, intellectual integrity, and a strong sense of ethics and justice, ready to excel in their legal careers and significantly contribute to societal progress and the promotion of human rights and social responsibility.

The vision of the Faculty of Law embeds five main aspects:

C. Values driven Education of Legal Professionals (integrity, ethics, justice, human rights and pluralism and cultural diversity),

Mission

The Faculty of Law at La Sagesse University, a pioneer in Lebanon and the Arab region, was founded in 1875 with the mission of providing high-quality legal education that addresses the complex challenges of the contemporary world, promoting scientific research, and contributing to societal development while upholding human values.

The faculty is committed to cultivating a dynamic and inclusive academic environment that fosters excellence, critical thinking, and civic engagement. By offering trilingual instruction (French, English, and Arabic), it prepares students for global citizenship while giving priority to Arabic to facilitate access to public services and engagement with the Middle East. By collaborating with local and international partners, it aims to positively influence social progress, justice, and the rule of law, thereby providing students with various professional opportunities and a global outlook.

Institutional Learning Outcomes (ILOs)

The Faculty of Law has six ILOs:

ILO 1. Acquire a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of law in its various fields, along with the legal, political, cultural, and humanistic dimensions, fostering an integrated perspective.
ILO 2. Analyse and resolve complex legal issues to address current legal challenges, with a focus on alternative dispute resolution.
ILO 3. Analyse major religious legal traditions, historical perspectives, and the functioning of political and social institutions at both the Lebanese and international levels, and provide informed opinions considering social justice and human rights.
ILO 4. Conduct in-depth legal research, employing appropriate methods ethically, and critically evaluate legal information sources.
ILO 5. Effectively communicate with stakeholders to present legal arguments clearly, precisely, and persuasively.
ILO 6. Master relevant computer tools and statistical analysis tailored to legal and business contexts, thereby enhancing practical skills.
