Under the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism, The Faculty of Hospitality Management at Sagesse University, in conjunction with CESSA University in Mexico, have organized a Mexican Festival Week in Lebanon from the 8th until the 12th of December 2014 on Sagesse University premises, where Mexican students, faculty and directors have presented their gastronomy in celebration of unity and respect between these two great nations Lebanon & Mexico.

This visit was in reciprocity to the one that Sagesse University did to Mexico in May 2014, where a Lebanese festival week was prepared by the Sagesse team at CESSA University in Mexico City.

The opening ceremony of the festival included the signing of an academic cooperation agreement between both Institutions, with important dignitaries as honor witnesses, including H. E. Monsignor Boulos Matar, Archbishop of Beirut and Chancellor of Sagesse University, H. E. Mr. Michel Pharaoun, Minister of Tourism of Lebanon, Monsignor Camille Moubarak , Sagesse University President , H. E. Mr. Jaime Garcia Amaral, The Ambassador of Mexico to Lebanon, Dr. Tanios Kassis, Dean of Sagesse Faculty of Hospitality Management , Mr. Alonso Guerrero, Vice Rector of CESSA University and officials from the hotel and restaurants industry.

During the Festival week, many activities were conducted to promote the Mexican gastronomy, including an honor banquet for the guests that were present at the agreement signature, culinary demonstrations to the Sagesse Faculty of Hospitality Management students from the Mexican instructors, and a gala dinner.

This international effort of both Institutions, that are part of the Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne EHL-Certified Schools Network since 2005, is aligned with the mission and vision of providing the best hospitality education to their future hoteliers.
