The Director of the Career and Professional Development Center Ms. Lara Al Arab participated at the AUF DEEL workshop representing ULS as part of nurturing the entrepreneurial mindset and education at ULS. The workshop was organized by AUF as part of preparing for the DEEL 2020 competition. The workshop is intended to equip participants with inspirational examples of institutional strategy development, and to provide an understanding of conditions for implementation and the context, measurement and assessment of entrepreneurship impact. This was also a unique chance to meet different leaders and practitioners from other universities, to share perspectives and experiences.

The facilitator Ms. Pascale Brenet, who is the founder and director of the PEPITE (Student center for innovation, and entrepreneurship) within Université Bourgogne Franche Comté, has shared interesting insights, methods, and her professional experience to delve into the workshop’s topic: Build an entrepreneurial strategy: Challenges and Methods of entrepreneurship education.

The main objectives of the workshop were to:

  • Develop the entrepreneurial skills of students and facilitate their professional integration, meet the expectations of companies (change management, innovation, intrapreneurship),

  • Facilitate the creation of innovative businesses by students and young graduates,

  • and to be a mentor in educational innovation.

Several Lebanese universities have also participated and shared their experience in nurturing the entrepreneurial mindset, and challenges in this process. It is important to highlightthis workshop is part of a series of workshops to bring as much added value as possible for the DEEL project.

AUF is definitely an excellent organization and partner in this endeavor, and we do appreciate Mr. Sabourin’s and Ms. Bitar’s efforts in personally taking time to provide us with the timely information and all the support to ace all aspects of the DEEL project.
